Assisted Living

I ndependent, but need some
assistance with daily activities.

Our Assisted living is for residents who value their independence, but need some assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility and medication reminders, but can feed themselves.

Emma Barter Victoria Home amenities offer the safe and carefree lifestyle your loved one deserves. Residents may live in their own suites or with a companion and are relieved of household chores such as laundry, cooking, and cleaning.

There are approx. 35 rooms available for Assisted Living residents in the original Victoria Memorial section of the Home.

Each room is supplied with a bed, side table, chair, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture as well as TV, radio, small fridge and personal items.

Residents must supply their own bed linen and towels.

Bathrooms are shared however residents can dictate the time that they would like to shower. There is a handbasin in each room for personal hygiene.

There are more carers in this section than in the independent living area and they, and the nursing staff, are on call 24/7, for the needs of all our residents.

Rooms and basins are cleaned every day, deep cleaned once a week and the carers assist with bathing, dressing and making beds. Laundry is done once a week.

A government doctor visits the Home every week for any medical needs and a private ambulance service is contracted to the Home for emergency care and hospital transport.

No cooking is allowed in the rooms.

All meals are held in the dining room.

No pets are allowed.
