B enefit from living independently,
but without the worry of daily chores.
Our independent living residents have all the benefits of living independently, but without the worry of maintenance, chores, or even cooking.
They must be able to dress, bathe, eat and care for themselves.
There are approx. 30 Independent Living rooms available (which fluctuates according to the number of assisted living residents) in the original Emma Barter section of the Home.
Each room is supplied with a bed, side table, chair, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture as well as TV, radio, small fridge and personal items. Residents must supply their own bed linen and towels.
For our very active ‘Independents’ there is 1 Cottage with 6 Rooms and 3 bathrooms, a small lounge and a kitchenette for warming food only (not cooking)
Bathrooms in the Emma Barter section are shared however residents can dictate the time that they would like to shower. There is a hand basin in each room for personal hygiene.
